Every vertical foot run raises money to support the fight for clean air in Washington state.
RUFA Tiger Mountain Race Details:
The cause: As RUFA puts it, working for clean air and climate solutions is an endurance sport. Fortunately, just like any long run, we can face these challenges together. This will be a great day of community, connection, and trails. All runner’s will have the opportunity to fundraise with their community in conjunction with the race, and race proceeds less costs will be donated to our non-profit beneficiary, Washington Conservation Action.
Pick your challenge: Runners sign up for the 3hr, 6hr, or 12hr race length, and then complete the course as many times as they are able within their allotted time.
The course: The Running Up for Air: Tiger Mountain course ascends from Issaquah High School to the Hiker’s Hut at the summit of W. Tiger #1, mainly via the formidable Section Line trail, and return to the start/finish via the same route.

2025 has brought unprecedented disruptions to the federal infrastructure that protects our environment and the places that we love to recreate. The disruption of funds and layoffs to the NPS, NFS, and the agencies that develop and enforce environmental protections have left many of us who love the outdoors concerned, feeling powerless and looking for a way to make a difference.

Proceeds from Running Up for Air: Tiger Mountain 2025 will support Washington Conservation Action, who cares deeply about the land, air, water, and communities that sustain us as well as fairness in our political system. Their work focuses on initiatives that support a healthy environment, community organizing, and the healthy democracy needed to support our larger ecosystem.
